Pandemonium At Ikokwu As Roadside Traders, Food Vendors Clash With Men Of Taskforce On Illegal Street Trading, 5 Injured, Goods/Wears Destroyed (photos)

No Fewer than Five persons where injured today as Roadside traders and food vendors at the Ikokwu junction also counted their losses as men of the taskforce on illegal street trading stormed the area destroying their goods
Over ten hilux trucks loaded with taskforce officials and heavily armed security men were also sighted at the junction enforcing the ban on illegal street trading with accompanying gunshots to scare the traders who almost became violent

A food vendor who sells food to construction workers at the Ikoku flyovers construction site narrated how she was attending to a military officer attached to the company handling the flyover construction when suddenly men of the taskforce arrived and started destroying her goods not minding several appeals my the army officer

Other traders who goods were destroyed decried the negative attitude of members of the taskforce

Another eyewitness accused the security officers attached to the taskforce of being the ones fueling the crisis and asked governor Wike to call them to other so as to prevent a breakdown of law and order
