Obasanjo made sacrifices for Nigeria, Africa – AFDB President, Adesina

The President of African Development Bank, AfDB, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, has said the life of former President Olusegun Obasanjo is full of unrelenting service to humanity.

Obasanjo, a former Nigerian leader, clocked 83 on Thursday.

Adesina, in a statement, made available to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), said Obasanjo had been rendering sacrifices for the noblest ideals and selflessness in nation-building.

“Your every moment is not spent on yourself, but on others, always with a palpable and admirable commitment to progress, peace, and stability across Nigeria, Africa and the world,” Adesina said.

“I’m always so very proud to call you: my Baba Africa.

“You are a shining example and the world needs more of you every day as you celebrate another life milestone today on your 83rd Birthday.

“I wish you a delightful, memorable, and joyous birthday celebration on behalf of my wife, Yemisi, and myself.

“You are a voice that inspires, boldly sending forth with courage, words of wisdom across the world, while inspiring hope for the future.”

Adesina, however, prayed to God to grant Obasanjo peace, good health, joy and to enjoy the fruits of his hard work and labour.
