The former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ali Modu Sheriff, has claimed that the people of Borno State has delivered the highest votes for President Muhammadu Buhari in the Saturday presidential election.
Sheriff stated this while speaking with newsmen at the venue of the presidential collation centre in Maiduguri, the state capital.
He stated with confidence that the presidential candidate of APC will emerge as the winner of the February 23 presidential election.
Sheriff claimed that he led a separate campaign, aside the state campaign council of APC to ensure that Buhari got a second term.
He said: “So far, the results that we have got from the field are encouraging, and we are 100 per cent sure that all our candidates, especially our three senators and House of Representatives will soon be declared winners.
“And if these are in favour of APC, it means the president will get substantial votes from Borno State and we believe our result will be more than that of 2015.”
