Nigeria’s President-elect and the flagbearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the just-concluded presidential election, Bola Tinubu, has arrived at the party’s campaign council headquarters in Abuja.

The elated former Governor of Lagos arrived at the APC campaign head office in the company of his wife, Remi Tinubu, and his running mate and Vice President-elect, Senator Kashim Shettima.

Tinubu, who is billed to give his acceptance speech, was received at the APC PCC headquarters by party leaders, members, and supporters with singing and dancing.

Asiwaju, as he fondly called, was captured dancing with the former Governor of Borno state and ex-National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Modu Sheriff, while other party leaders cheer them on.

After his acceptance speech, Tinubu and Shettima will be presented with the Certificate of Return at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) headquarters in Abuja at 3 pm today (Wednesday).

It was earlier reported that INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, had announced Tinubu as the President-elect in the wee hours of Wednesday.

He had said: “I now perform my responsibility as Chief Returning Officer of the Federation.

“I, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, hereby certify that I am the returning officer for the 2023 general election. The election was contested.

“That Tinubu Bola Ahmed of the APC, having certified the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned.”
