#NigeriaDecides2023: Ayo Fayose Reacts To Tinubu’s Victory

A former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose has reacted to the victory of the President-elect, Bola Tinubu in Saturday’s election.

It was reports that the former Ekiti State governor took to the micro-blogging platform, Twitter, to congratulate Tinubu on his victory in the presidential race.

In his tweets, Fayose appealed to the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, to accept the outcome of the election and concede defeat in the interest of the Nigerians.

In a tweet, he wrote: “I congratulate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu on his election as the next President of Nigeria.

“As the presidential election comes to an end, I urge other contestants, especially Atiku Abubakar to accept the outcome in the overall interest of our country. There will always be another day.”

His message follows the declaration by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that Tinubu was the winner of Saturday’s presidential election.

Tinubu secured a total of 8,794,726 votes, while Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) finished in second place with 6,984,520 votes and the Labour Party (LP)’s Peter Obi came third with 6,101,533 votes.
