Keyamo Reacts As INEC Declares Tinubu President-Elect

The Chief Spokesman of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council (APC PCC), Festus Keyamo, has congratulated the party’s standard bearer, Bola Tinubu, on his emergence as the President-elect.

It was earlier reported that the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, had declared Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election.

Announcing the results in the early hours of Wednesday at the National Collation Centre in Abuja, Yakubu said Tinubu secured a total of 8,794,726 votes to emerge the winner of the exercise.

The INEC boss added that Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had the second-highest figure with 6,984,520 votes, while Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 6,101,533 votes.

Reacting in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, Keyamo congratulated Tinubu on his emergence as the President-elect of the country.

He wrote: “PRESIDENT-ELECT, FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF NIGERIA.”

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 Presidential election.

The President in his congratulatory message on Wednesday which was signed by his spokesperson, Garba Shehu, described Tinubu as the best man for the job.

Reacting, President Buhari said the current election cycle is a very competitive one and a pointer to the growing democracy in Nigeria, adding that the result reflects the wish of the people.

According to Buhari, the competitiveness of the 2023 election is reflected in him losing Katsina State and Tinubu also losing Lagos State.

He thereafter urged all politicians, particularly those who participated in the election to come together and build the country in the interest of all Nigerians.
