Fani-Kayode Reacts As Tinubu Emerges President-Elect

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has congratulated the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, on his emergence as the President-elect.

It was earlier reported that the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Mahmood Yakubu, had declared Tinubu as the winner of the presidential election.

Announcing the results in the early hours of Wednesday at the National Collation Centre in Abuja, Yakubu said Tinubu secured a total of 8,794,726 votes to emerge the winner of the exercise.

The INEC boss added that Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had the second-highest figure with 6,984,520 votes, while Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) came third with 6,101,533 votes.

He said: “I now perform my responsibility as Chief Returning Officer of the Federation.

“I, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, hereby certify that I am the returning officer for the 2023 general election. The election was contested.

“That Tinubu Bola Ahmed of the APC, having certified the requirements of the law, is hereby declared the winner and is returned.”

Reacting to the development in a tweet via his verified Twitter handle on Wednesday, Fani-Kayode applauded Tinubu for a resounding, historic, and well-deserved victory after a hard-fought fight.

The APC chieftain also thanked God for the emergence of Tinubu as the president-elect of the country.

He wrote: “Congrats to President-elect Bola Ahmed Tinubu (@officialABAT) for a resounding, historic & well-deserved victory after a hard-fought fight. We give the Lord praise and thanksgiving for what He has done. He is mighty in battle and faithful to His own. To Him alone be the glory.”
