#NigeriaDecides: INEC Reveals When Voting Will Start, End

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Friday revealed when voting would start and end in polling units across the country for Saturday’s election.

Nigerians (today), Saturday, 25th of February, 2023 would be voting for the next president of Nigeria and lawmakers in the 10th national assembly.

President Muhammadu Buhari’s successor would be elected by eligible voters across the country today.

The Chairman of INEC, Mahmood Yakubu while speaking at the 2nd briefing on INEC’s preparedness for the 2023 polls held at the ICC, Abuja said voting will start at 8.30 am.

Yakubu further stated that voting will end at 2.30 pm on Saturday, however, voters in the queue would be allowed to cast their votes.

He said, “All voters in the queue before 2 pm can vote.”

INEC says it can’t give a specific number of hours or days it will take before the official results for the 2023 presidential and national assembly are declared.

INEC however assured that everything would be done to ensure the results are declared speedily as the commission understands Nigerians would be anxious to get the results.

The assurance was given on Friday in Abuja by the INEC chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu during a press briefing ahead of Saturday’s elections.
