The home of Lee Maeba, the chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Council in Rivers State, was attacked by suspected thugs.

The residence was attacked by the thugs early on December 8, 2022, and roughly five cars were vandalized.

An ally of PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar named Maeba confirmed the attack when Channels Television paid him a visit at his home.

The PDP presidential campaign chairman said his neighbors had noticed odd movements near his home when he arrived in Port Harcourt on Thursday morning, December 8.

He said a young man called him to warn him about the planned attack. Maeba said his house was attacked shortly after he went out to visit his mother-in-law.

“They shot at the gate and force the gate open. They tied the gateman and shouted where is he? The next thing they did was shoot at the cars. What is my offence? Atiku does not live here. I am a democrat and I don’t have any plan to harm anybody,” Maeba said.

According to reports, three people were hurt during the attack on the former senator’s home who formerly served as Rivers South East’s National Assembly representative.
