Gambia-based Nigerian Catholic priest, Rev’d Fr. Kelvin Ugwu has reacted after Apostle Johnson Suleman claimed to know the people behind the trending assasination attempt.
Recall that the pastor’s convoy was attacked and seven people were confirmed dead except the pastor, who luckily escaped the onslaught of the gunmen.
Hours after the news went viral, Johnson Suleman claimed to be invulnerable to death and also claimed that he knows the persons involved in the planned assasination but he’s not going to disclose anything because the people in question might deny the allegations. Read more here.
However, Kelvin Ugwu has now reacted to the pastor’s earlier claims of invulnerability to death and knowledge of the people’s identities who wanted to attack him.
The Catholic clergyman recounted how he kept preaching to his followers on the need to testify sensitively without using other people’s misfortunes to elevate their stories.
He remanded the Edo based pastor for boasting of invulnerability despite the fact that seven people who were with him were gruesomely murdered. He further stated that he’s thankful that the pastor knows the people involved in the shooting.
Kelvin Ugwu then urged the police and government to take up the matter because the lives of the deceased matters so much and hence, a proper investigation be carried out.
In his words;
“I have always said it here, when giving testimonies, be sensitive. Don’t use other people’s misfortune to elevate your own story.
“In their bid to assassinate you, seven persons were killed and you are like “my life is in the hands of God, nobody can kill me.”
“Well, I will not thank God that you survived the assassination, I will rather thank God that you admitted to knowing those that were behind the assassination and shooting.
“I call on the police and the government to take it up from there. The lives of those seven persons matter so much. The minister’s life is not more valuable than theirs. A full investigation should be opened immediately until those behind the shooting are arrested and giving what they deserve by law.
“And for those working closely with the minister, I will advice you take necessary precaution because it seems he knows somethings that are capable of putting you at risk, which you may not be aware of.”
