The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has vowed to clamp down on internet fraudsters, also known as ‘Yahoo boys’.
Naija News reports that the country’s anti-graft agency made this known in a post via its Facebook page on Wednesday following the recent surge in reported cases of ritual killings in the country.
The EFCC stated that it will intensify efforts to arrest all internet fraudsters denting the image of the country, adding its agents will go after them no matter the sacrifices they offer or rituals they perform.
According to the anti-graft agency, it has come to its attention that Yahoo boys now go spiritual, offering sacrifices and performing rituals in order to make money.
The EFCC wrote: “No going back on the onslaught against yahoo-yahoo or yahoo-plus, whatever nomenclature. Give up, or give in. The Eagle will get you anytime, anywhere! #Eagleseries57 #EFCC #stopyahooyahoonow.
“Yahoo boys now going Spiritual. Even doing money Ritual and making it the new Usual. We will come for those individual(s). Tell them, it won’t be business as usual.”
