My Last Moments With Hanifa – Father Of Kano Schoolgirl Abducted, Killed By Proprietor Reveals

Five-year-old Abubakar was reportedly abducted by her teacher on December 4, 2021 and murdered two weeks later.

According to an exclusive report by SaharaReporters, Abubakar Abdulsalam, father of the kidnapped and murdered Kano pupil, Hanifa Abubakar, has tearfully narrated how his daughter was gruesomely murdered by her teacher and proprietor, Abdulmalik Mohammad Tanko, in Kano State.

Five-year-old Abubakar was reportedly abducted by her teacher on December 4, 2021 and murdered two weeks later.

Her grave was discovered days ago in the same school where she attended for about two terms, some seven months ago.

On Thursday, the police exhumed the mutilated body of the minor buried within the school premises where she previously attended.

Speaking to SaharaReporters, Abdulsalam said the news of his daughter’s demise came to the family as a rude shock, leading to the hospitalisation of his wife.

He said, “I was at the Department of State Services (DSS) office when I learnt of the discovery of her corpse 47 days after she was abducted.

“When her mother heard the news; she was heartbroken, she collapsed; we had to rush her to a hospital where she is currently being managed; she couldn’t eat or sleep since then”, he said.

He described his daughter as a highly spirited girl, full of life and likeable by all who have met her. “I wonder why anyone would want to harm her”, he added.

“Hanifa was distinguished among her peers within the neighbourhood; she was a brilliant girl and loves her father so much. My last words with her the day she was abducted, she was about to go to a Qur’anic school when her mother asked to pray, she recited a prayer and I told her I’ve heard you, please you may proceed to school.

“She recited Bissimillahi Tawwakkait Alallah. She recited loud for her mother to hear. She left for school requesting her mother to buy candy for her”, he said.

Abdulsalam who sounded traumatised, urged other parents to be mindful of those who spend time with their children.
