New Olu of Warri, Ogiame Atuwatse III, crowned amid jubilation in Delta

There was jubilation in Ode-Itsekiri, the ancestral home of the Itsekiri People as Prince Utienyinoritse-Tsola Emiko was crowned as Ogiame Atuwatse III, 21st Olu of Warri Kingdom.

The new Olu of Warri was crowned shortly after he fulfilled all the traditional rites in line with the Itsekiri customs and traditions.

The Itsekiri people expressed joy, dancing and jubilating to celebrate the new Olu.

A boat regatta was also organized in his honour.

Our Correspondent who covered the event reports that shops and markets were shut down for the event.

However, passengers groaned as they trekked long distances due to the heavy traffic gridlock in the town.

Present at the event were the Deputy Senate President, Sen. Ovie Omo-Agege, Governor Arthur Ifeanyi Okowa who was represented by Mr. Ovie Agas, former Secretary to the Delta State Government, the Ooni of Ife, Emir of Kano represented, Oluwo of Owo and King Jaja of Opobo.
