LIVE UPDATES: Lagos State Local Government Elections (photos)

Residents of Lagos will today, Saturday, July 24th, 2021, come out to vote for candidates that would pilot their affairs at the grassroots.

The Lagos State government on Thursday announced a restriction of movement between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.

Residents will cast their ballots in polling units across local councils in the state to elect their local government chairmen and councilors for a fresh four-year term

The polls will be open across the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Development Areas of the state.

12.00 pm: The Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife, Ibijoke, have cast their votes at their polling unit in 08 Eti-Osa at Ikoyi/Obalende, Lagos.

11:03 am: Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his wife arrive at the polling unit at 11.03 a.m.

10:31 am: LASIEC officials and materials arrived at Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s polling unit on Lateef Jakande Road in Ikoyi.

10:17 am: Voting has commenced in Dairy Farm School, Agege, Ward 7, Unit 6.

9:00 am: At Unit 09 Ward L2, Lateef Jakande Road in Ikoyi where Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwoolu is expected to vote there is less activity at 9:00 am.

Party agents and newsmen are already on the ground waiting for election officials.

8.30 am: Some voters have already arrived at the polling units 012 and 013 in Ojodu Primary School in Ojodu LGA of Lagos State.

Although no electoral official is in sight, security operatives are present to keep things coordinated.
