APC May Give Goodluck Jonathan Presidential Ticket – Deji Adeyanju

Political and human rights activist, Comrade Deji Adeyanju, has claimed that some members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) may pick former President Goodluck Jonathan as its presidential candidate.

Adeyanju, who is the co-convener of the Concerned Nigerians group, disclosed this in a post on Twitter.

According to the former PDP member, the main opposition is currently without a leader.

Adeyanju said that former PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar who resides mostly in Dubai, has abandoned the party.

He wrote: “If APC decides to give Jonathan their ticket as proposed by some, the PDP will become empty before 2023. But nothing is certain in politics.

“PDP currently does not have a leader. Only Wike is even trying to provide some form of leadership and funding for them. The Dubai guy is a clown.”

Recall that Adeyanju had said some PDP stakeholders are tired of fielding Atiku as the party’s presidential candidate.

The activist had claimed that PDP stakeholders are angry with Atiku for allegedly abandoning the party and relocating to Dubai after the 2015 elections.

He claimed that stakeholders are considering either Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State or Governor Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State as their 2023 presidential candidate.

Meanwhile, a northern political group, the Tinubu Peoples Network (TPN) has declared Asiwaju Bola Tinubu as their chosen candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential ticket for 2023 polls.

The group which stated that there is no better person to lead Nigeria at the moment also picked current Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje as their preferred running mate for Tinubu.

Announcing the Tinubu/Ganduje ticket, TPN emphasized the importance of having the right people as leaders of the country come 2023.

The coordinator of the group, Muhammad Tajo Nagoda pointed out that the antecedents of Tinubu in office as the Lagos State Governor as well as the current achievements being recorded by Ganduje in Kano, influenced their choice of the two persons as their candidates for the 2023 presidential election.

He said they will do all within their power to ensure the two finally emerge as APC candidates and eventually as President and Vice President respectively.
