Customs ex-CG Dikko dies at 61

A former Comptroller General of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS), Abdullahi Dikko Inde, is dead.

He reportedly passed away on Thursday at an Abuja hospital.

The late Dikko, who hailed from Musawa Local Government Area of Katsina State, was born on May 11, 1960 and he enrolled into the NCS in 1988.

He was appointed the Controller General of the service in 2009 and retired from the position in 2015.

A member of the Association of the Nigerian Licensed Customs Agents (ANLCA), who did not want to be named, told The Nation about death of the former NCS chief.

But the Katsina State government had not commented on the demise of the ex-CG last night.

NCS Public Relations Officer, Mr. Joseph Attah, confirmed Dikko’s death last night.

In a statement in Abuja, Attah said: “The family of the former Comptroller General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde just announced his passing away today.”

His funeral prayers (Janazza) will take place today after Jum’ah prayers at the National Mosque in Abuja.
