Shehu Sani Reacts As Bandits Abducts Many Students In His Former School

A former Kaduna Central Senator, Shehu Sani has condemned the attack on Government Science College (GSC) Kagara, in Niger State by bandits.

This newspaper had earlier reported that one student had been killed and several other students abducted as armed bandits attacked Government Science College Kagara in Rafi Local government area of Niger State.

The bandits also kidnapped some teachers and their family members residing within the College Staff Quarters.

According to a government source who spoke to Channels Television on Wednesday, said the students and teachers were abducted at about 2:00 am on Wednesday when the bandits stormed the school.

The source stated that bandits started shooting sporadically. In the process, a student was killed while some others sustained gunshots.

The source could not, however, give the number of persons abducted and those injured as at the time of filing the report

The source further added that the gunmen were dressed in the same school uniform used by the students, disguising to be members of the school.

Reacting to the attack in a post on his Twitter page on Wednesday, Shehu Sani said the principal of the school told him that some students and teachers were abducted on Wednesday morning.

He wrote, ”Early hours of this morning, Armed bandits stormed the Government Science College Kagara Niger State, my alma mata, and abducted some students and staff family members.I just spoke to the principal.

”The images and video clips of the victims of the kidnapping in Niger state which includes women, children and infants is pure evil and tragic. The confidence and audacity of the heavily armed bandits reflects the tumors the Government must urgently treat in order to save the nation.”
