2023: If PDP Picks Atiku As Its Presidential Candidate, Adeyanju Reveals What Will Happen

Nigerian activist, Deji Adeyanju has cautioned the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) against presenting Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate in 2023.

He noted that if the PDP fields Atiku as its 2023 presidential candidate, the party should be ready to remain in opposition for the next eight years as the current generation wants new faces.

Comrade Adeyanju made his views known in a series of tweets on Tuesday, 24th November.

He however submitted that he has nothing against Atiku as a person, noting that he even prefers him to President Muhammadu Buhari but that the time has come for the younger generation to take over.

He added that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would present a young presidential candidate to deceive Nigerians in 2023 but they will be shocked that Nigerians are now wiser.

He wrote:

“PDP must present a new face in 2023 to stand any chance because APC will be presenting a YOUNG PERSON and it will be easier to deceive Nigerians again

“If they allow Atiku to emerge, they will be in opposition for 8 more years. He should rest. The nation is tired of their set.

“Many of you just analyze Nigerian politics based on emotions as if you don’t know this country again. The people that will start the betrayal are PDP members. Didn’t many PDP people including Governors work against Atiku the last time.”

He also added that as much as he wishes it to happen, no political party will be able to stand against the APC and the PDP in 2023 but urged the two major parties to present new faces that will be acceptable to Nigerians.

“I really want a new party to supernaturally emerge & wipe out APC & PDP but I don’t see any magic anywhere in the world making that happen in 2023. This is the political reality in Nigeria today. If you tell yourself otherwise, you are funny.

I have nothing against Atiku & like I said during the 2019 election, he’s better than Buhari. In fact, anyone is better than Buhari. Atiku has nothing to offer in the new political reality of 2023 because the game has drastically changed.

If the 2 major political parties keep presenting their worst, our country will keep going under. There are many things I can’t say here because many will misunderstand.”

Meanwhile, the Minister of works and housing, Babatunde Fashola has warned the APC to respect its zoning agreement in the 2023 election.
