Obaseki’s ADC Collapses At His Swearing In Ceremony (Video)

The Aide-de-camp (ADC) to Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki on Thursday collapsed during the swearing-in ceremony of the governor at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Edo State.

The governor was reading his inaugural speech when the incident happened. He was standing at the back of Obaseki, who was reading his speech, when he suddenly started going down. Others close to him eased him to the ground.

As of the time of filing this report, the ADC’s state of health was not clear.

The event, a low key one, held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Edo State, and the oath of office was administered by the State Chief Judge, Hon. Justice Esther Edigin.

It was the Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, flanked by his wife, that first took the oath of office at about 11.48pm, before Governor Godwin Obaseki, also flanked by his wife took his own oath of office at about 12.00pm.

The two men had earlier contested and won the 2020 Edo State governorship election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
