FGN Relief Disbursement Collation Form Is A Scam, Presidential Aide Tolu Ogunlesi Says

Tolu Ogunlesi, the Special Assistant to President Buhari on Digital & New Media, has come out to address the trending Google Doc circulating online with Nigerians thinking its a government initiative to help collate data for COVID-19 relief disbursement.

As a result of the continued lockdown across the country, many Nigerians are currently expectant of palliatives from the FG and may easily fall for anything that looks as such, hence the rise in online fraud, with fraudsters scheming new ways to scam people.

The latest of these fraudulent schemes is the trending Google Doc with the title “Federal Government of Nigeria relief disbursement collation form”.

Taking to Twitter, Tolu Ogunlesi the Special Assistant to President Buhari on Digital & New Media, cautioned the public against filling such forms. He wrote;

“Someone sent this to me asking if genuine. GoogleDocs form.

Fill it at your own risk.

The only people who will ask you to supply banking details etc on a random online form are SCAMMERS.

Don’t let anyone collect the little you’re managing. STOP GIVING OUT SENSITIVE INFO!!!”

This Relief Disbursement Collation Form being circulated is a SCAM. NEVER EVER, under any circumstances, give out your BANKING + PERSONAL details to ANY online ‘data collection’ form. Never. Don’t do it. Don’t even wonder if it’s genuine or not. Just don’t do it!
