Police tightened security within Kaduna metropolis ahead of the hearing of the bail application of the founder of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Ibraheem El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat on Monday.
El-Zakzaky had been granted leave to travel out of Nigeria for medical treatment in India.
He and his wife were however absent in court during the ruling.
Our correspondent revealed that journalists were barred from the court premises.
