Popular Kannywood actress Binta Kofar Soro who usually played ‘motherly’ roles is dead.
Binta Kofar Soro died in the early hours of SATURDAY and she has since been buried in Kano, Premium Times reports.
A close ally to the deceased, Nuhu Abdullahi, who is also a Kannywood actor, confirmed the death of the actress.
Mr Abdullah said the Kannywood movie industry is shocked over the demise of the actress, stressing the fact that she will be greatly missed in the industry as she didn’t present herself as just an actress, but as also a mother to the entire members of the Kannywood movie industry.
“Hajiya Binta Soron Dinki is one actress that we all like to work with. Her role has always been motherly. Apart from just acting, she is always there to correct you as a mother. The whole Kannywood is mourning,” Mr Abdullahi said.
Nigerian actors have changed their social media profile pictures, replacing them with the late actress’ picture, especially on their Instagram pages.
Rahama Sadau, Ali Nuhu, Fati Mohammed and others have also taken to their respective social media pages to write short tributes, praying for the repose of her soul.
