INEC Declares El-Rufai As Winner Of Kaduna State Governorship Election

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai has been declared as the winner of the election.

El-Rufai was declared as the winner by the returning officer, Prof Mohammed Yahuza Bello, having scored a total vote of 1,045,427 while the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Isa Ashiru scored 814,168 votes.

Results collated at the INEC headquarters in Kaduna state revealed that El-Rufai won in 14 local government areas of Makarfi, Soba, Kudan, Ikara, Kauru, Kubau, Kaduna North, Giwa, Birnin Gwari, Sabongari, Lere, Kaduna South, Zaria and Igabi local government areas.

While the candidate of PDP, Isa Ashiru Kudan won in nine local government areas Jaba, Kachia, Kaura, Kajuru, Zango Kataf, Sanga, Chikun and Jema’a local government areas.
